MANKATO BALLET SHOWCASE: “ROOTED & REACHING”

“Rooted and Reaching” is a succinct collection of new choreographic works put together by Minnesota choreographers and local dancers. This showcase covers a range of ballet, modern and jazz styles and is designed to celebrate the joy of bringing new art into the rural communities we call home.

THE LIFE OF DOROTHY MOLTER, THE ROOT BEER LADY OF THE BWCA

Dorothy Molter lived 56 years on Knife Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. She was known as Knife Lake Dorothy, The Nightingale of the North, but many of us are more familiar with her real claim to fame “The Root Beer Lady of the BWCA”. She came to fame with extensive national media coverage, books and documentaries. Join us as we tell the tale of Dorothy Molter, a legend of the north country!

Fitness Center

Our full-service fitness center is non-intimidating and features state-of-the-art strength training equipment. Our exercise equipment is easy to use and reduces stress on your joints. The smart-card technology personalizes your training, while keeping track of your progress. Professional staff and trained volunteers are always available to help.

Travel Opportunities

Walking Track

No matter the weather outside, our cushioned walking track is always the perfect 70 degrees inside, with 360-degree views of the Minnesota River Valley. Research shows that a flat, firm, but not too hard surface is the best for older knees and joints.
