VINE and Mankato Community Education offer a comfortable coach bus, escorts and an affordable price. Buses depart from the Wow!Zone Family Entertainment Center, behind Hilltop Hy-Vee. Viewing and discussion of a session from a recent virtual Alzheimer’s Foundation of America Educating America Tour, facilitated by VINE staff. Janet Weigel, CDP, a Dementia Outreach Specialist at the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin, discusses the effects of dementia that impact safety such as judgement, memory, inability to understand and follow directions, perception and movement issues.

MAYO PRESENTS: EXERCISE AS TREATMENT FOR PARKINSON’S DISEASE

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved over-the-counter hearing aids for people with mild to moderate hearing impairment. This will enable millions of Americans to buy hearing aids without needing to see a doctor. Kristi will share information about the new rules and guidance from an audiologist perspective.

As an art teacher at Bethany Lutheran College for 40 years he has painted scenes from the Mankato area including Sibley Park, the Red Jacket Trail and 7 Mile County Park. His artwork is on display at Madison Art Center, the University of Minnesota, the Waseca Art Center, Minneapolis Children’s Hospital, St. Paul Children’s Hospital, Bethany Lutheran College and Gustavus Adolphus. Come hear about his artist process and learn more about his works.

Our full-service fitness center is non-intimidating and features state-of-the-art strength training equipment. Our exercise equipment is easy to use and reduces stress on your joints. The smart-card technology personalizes your training, while keeping track of your progress. Professional staff and trained volunteers are always available to help.

Walking Track

No matter the weather outside, our cushioned walking track is always the perfect 70 degrees inside, with 360-degree views of the Minnesota River Valley. Research shows that a flat, firm, but not too hard surface is the best for older knees and joints.
