GUIDED WRITING WORKSHOP: REVISION

  • May 14
  • 3 – 4:30 pm

Adelia Gregory will return to VINE one last time to lead a workshop on the art of revision—literally “re-vision,” or seeing your work with new eyes. This is where writing truly begins to take shape. A first draft captures your “first instinct”—an initial impulse drawn from memory, reflection, or imagination. In this session, Adelia will help participants tap into their “second instinct,” a more deliberate and refined approach that deepens the writing through thoughtful revision. Those who joined Adelia’s earlier workshop on point of view are encouraged to revisit and revise their previous exercises, while new participants can bring another piece of writing to work on. Adelia will also introduce the three main stages of revision, local, regional and global, and help apply these techniques to keep the creative energy alive.
