Care receivers are the individuals who receive some sort of help from VINE. They may receive Hot Meals on Wheels, transportation or help with household chores. There is no initial fee to be a care receiver, but there are costs associated with the services received. When a person first calls and requests assistance, a member of VINE’s professional staff will make a “get acquainted” visit to the person’s home. This is a time to learn about specific needs and discuss how VINE can be helpful. A care receiver application is completed and the person requesting help is asked to provide their written permission for VINE to get involved. It is not necessary for a care receiver to become a VACC member, although we encourage everyone to enjoy the fun and fellowship offered at the Adult Community Center.
VINE Adult Community Center (VACC) members come to the VINE Adult Community Center to exercise, participate in programs, and socialize. Membership fees are based on the type of activities that people choose and, in most cases, health insurance incentives cover all or part of the monthly membership cost. Financial assistance is available on a sliding fee scale for people age 62+ with a demonstrated need, as determined by our guidelines.
