Land theft, forced exile and cultural suppression of people indigenous to Mankato area has been ignored in mainstream education. Indigenous elders like Joe safeguard lost
traditions, offering a chance to honor the past and revive interest in preserving them for the future. We will embark on a mission to change the narratives that have been silenced, forging connections and fostering understanding. As we delve into the truths of this land, it is important to do so together, amplifying and centering Dakota perspectives through partnership, collaboration and advocacy.
