In the summer of 1994, a small group of people sat around a kitchen table and discussed how to create a safe and effective way for people to help their neighbors. By developing a simple organization, where volunteers who want to help are matched with people who need a helping hand, everyone benefits.
VINE is redefining aging and promoting the wellbeing of aging adults through programming, services, and community engagement.
VINE serves older adults and their family caregivers, with a special emphasis on working with community members who seek to age to the max – caring for themselves and others, regardless of their years or means.
VINE is a vibrant gift to our community as a resource for active, experienced adults who want to be involved, and maintain their health and quality of life. As a member and volunteer, I have experienced the philosophy of lifelong learning, healthy choices, staying physically fit, providing a place where folks can socialize, play games and so much more. I am blessed to be able to give back to my community through my volunteer experience.
I am so deeply grateful for this place. This place makes such a difference in the community.
I knew I wanted to volunteer in the community, but didn’t know where. I believe The Lord led me to VINE because he knew the blessings I would receive every time I had an opportunity to work with the staff and recipients. There are a variety of activities available to give of your time and talent.
